One app, the whole library

Prisflex started as a Direct Play converter. Today it keeps its own library, downloads, plays, records and serves, and replaces Plex, Sonarr, Radarr, SABnzbd and Tautulli with one app.

Direct Play for everything

Every file plays as it is, so nothing has to transcode while you watch.

  • Finds the files a player would have to transcode and converts each one once: video to HEVC, audio to AAC, subtitles to SRT, all in MKV.
  • Encodes on an NVIDIA GPU with NVENC, with libx265 as the software fallback.
  • Leaves files that already Direct Play alone, and only remuxes when just the container is wrong.
  • Safe by design: it works on a copy on a scratch drive, checks the output against the source before the original is replaced, and resumes stopped encodes.
  • Encode Before Import converts a new download before it reaches the library. Pause or resume, stop a single encode, and let it slow down when the GPU runs hot or memory runs low.

Movies and TV, managed by Prisflex

Its own library of record, its own searches and its own downloader.

  • Wanted and Cutoff Unmet, quality profiles, custom formats, the Calendar, Add New, renaming, library rules, and a trash with restore.
  • Import lists, including streaming-service lists, and collections.
  • Newznab indexers, RSS sync, searches and release decisions, with a blocklist.
  • A built-in Usenet downloader with news servers and Direct Unpack. Downloads pause when the drive runs low.
  • Problem files are downloaded again automatically, and Do Next / Encode Next put what you want to watch first.

Watch anywhere

Prisflex TV, its own app, on every screen in the house.

  • Prisflex TV: a web app, plus an Android app for Fire TV (installed with the Downloader app) whose own player plays MKV, HEVC and Dolby audio as they are.
  • Home shelves, Continue Watching, ratings, a show's theme music, and Skip Intro / Skip Credits, with intros and credits found by Prisflex itself.
  • Household accounts with rating limits set from each birthday, a PIN that keeps private libraries out of shared history and stats, and sign-in with a short code on a new TV.
  • On a weak connection, Prisflex TV steps down to a smaller picture while it plays. It can also show which of your streaming services has a title, with a link to watch it there.

Live TV and DVR

Watch and record your antenna channels.

  • Watch live from an HDHomeRun or a TV tuner in the PC.
  • Guide data from the stations' own broadcast guide or an XMLTV file, with station logos.
  • Record one program, a whole series, or every game for one team.
  • Recordings of your shows are filed into the TV library. Commercials can be removed and subtitles made from closed captions.

Music, photos and books

The rest of the library, in the same app.

  • Music: your library, Missing Albums searched and grabbed, and a Music Inbox that identifies files by their AcoustID fingerprint.
  • Lyrics, with translation using your own API key, and a karaoke mode that removes the vocals, plus playlists and a visualizer.
  • Photos: a Timeline, Places on a map, and slideshows and montages set to music.
  • Books: read EPUB eBooks and PDFs in the browser and on the TV, and play audiobooks.

Games

Classic consoles in the browser, played from your own game files.

  • Atari 2600 and 5200, VIC-20, NES, Master System, Super NES, Genesis, PlayStation and Nintendo DS.
  • Plays the game files and BIOS files you already own.
  • Box art, age ratings and save slots.
  • Games are streamed from the PC to the TV.
